Anti-Bullying
At Gleadless, we are proud to have reduced the number of bullying incidents within our school community in recent years. Bullying happens rarely but, when it does, it is taken seriously.
Gleadless takes a multi-tiered approach to preventing and tackling bullying across the school. This involves:
- Teaching children explicitly about bullying through our RSHE curriculum
- Reinforcing anti-bullying messaging through regular assemblies throughout the school year
- Taking part in 'Anti-Bullying Week' and 'Odd Socks Day' each year
- A robust 'Positive Relationships and Behaviour Policy' which is underlined by a Trauma-Informed Approach and our Core Values
- An 'Anti-Bullying Policy' (see below) which outlines a cohesive response to every allegation of bullying
Gleadless children behave well and treat others with care and respect. They are taught what to do if they are worried that they, or someone else, has been a victim of bullying.
What Do Our Parents Think?
In July 2025, we asked our parents and carers whether they feel that the school deals with bullying effectively.
Most parents agreed or strongly agreed with this. Many parents did not know.
