Show Racism the Red Card

Gleadless is a school that promotes inclusivity, tolerance and diversity. We are proud to be an anti-racism school. We believe that all members of our school, our community and the wider world deserve to be treated equally and with respect. 

Since 2024, we have worked with 'Show Racism the Red Card, an organisation that shares these same values. 'Show Racism the Red Card' have worked with our staff and our children to deliver training, support and workshops to promote diversity and to ensure that our whole-school approach is clear and embedded in all aspects of school life. 

The work that we have done has helped to reduce the number of racist incidents in our school community. It also ensures that we take a deliberate and serious approach to tackling racist attitudes and/or incidents when these do occur. We also ensure that our whole-school curriculum celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity and supports children to show care and respect to others.
